Background
In February 2007, the Board of Education passed a resolution to review the vision and mission statements for School District No. 42 (Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows)
The process selected was a series of small group sessions throughout the school district with as wide a range of participant representation as possible. An additional key element in the process was the intention to develop of a set of core values that would serve as the foundation for the vision and mission. Following the meetings, the results were collated and a draft report of the vision statement, mission statement and core values developed. This draft report was presented to the Board and participants and then circulated for comment and feedback to a broader audience through meetings and a web based survey. A final report was then presented to the Board in early May.
